How To Be Happy
And Get What You Want
After almost a year of no problems with my iphone I got the dreaded “No Sim Card Installed” message the other day. So I googled it and found the turn on and off the airplane mode fix. I did it and it worked but then again this morning I got the “No Sim Card Installed” message on my iphone again!
The only problem was, this morning, the airplane mode thing didn’t work so I researched further and found out about the tape fix. So I cut a piece of tape out. Got a paper clip and poked it into the side hole to get the sim card out. I put the piece of tape over the sim card and NOTHING. Didn’t work at all for me….
So I got the thinking. Why are people using the tape? To stop the sim card from shorting out on the case. How do you keep something from shorting out? You ground it.
I realized my iphone is in a rubber case. If any of the electronics in there hit the metal, there is no where for the current to go. So it shorts. So I took the rubber case off and held the case directly against my skin. Put the sim card back in and the “No Sim Card Installed” message was gone.
I’m no electrician but it worked for me on my iphone and maybe it will work for you. Let me know if it works for you!
***UPDATE** I’ve tried this a couple of times since and it’s no more of a reliable fix than the tape or airplane mode fix.
** UPDATE AGAIN** Here is the actual “No Sim Card Installed” Fix solution that worked for me.
If anyone has a solution please share below.
