Burton Elite 58 Snowboard
I took the plunge and bought my first snowboard. A Burton Elite 58. I’ve lived in Calgary Alberta for almost 7 years with the Canadian Olympic Park only 10 minutes away and never took the opportunity to drop in, literally.
If you are looking to buy a snowboard, the guys as Ski Cellar on 17th ave are awesome. They walked me through the boots (Solomon), bindings (FS Burton) and snowboard (Burton Elite 58).
The best thing they got me to buy was a lock. I figured it was an up sell but thought to myself “It’s a smart up sell!” Long story short, I walk out to get my snowboard after having a Rockstar and I see this guy next to my snowboard looking around kind of confused. He then calls to his friends, “My ski’s are gone! Someone ripped them off!” I love my lock.
After a couple of times out and two lessons I thought I should buy a seasons pass, so I did. Let me tell you, half the reason I bought the Burton elite 58 was because of the Burton “Learn To Ride” Program (my last name was a geeky factor too). I saw all their boards on the hill, I learned on one of their snowboards and I thought what they were doing for the sport was awesome. So that’s where I put my money.
Here I was a 32 year old guy that didn’t have a clue about the sport but I wanted to have some fun. I went to Canadian Olympic Park and for $50 I got my Burton snowboard rental gear, a lift ticket and an hour and a half lesson. It doesn’t get much better than that.
For the last couple of weeks now, I’ve gotten more work done than ever. I wake up and check the weather. If it’s not sock in the shorts cold, I know I’m going out later. So I write an article, check my adsense, check my clickbank and then I’m off for a couple hours on the hill.
When I come back my head is clear, I’ve listened to some awesome tunes and I’m ready for another round at the computer. I’m actually going to miss being away when I go to Mexico in a couple of days, but I keep telling myself that waves mean surfing!
