Getting Crazy In Mazatalan
Mack and I are finally starting to get into the groove of things here in Mazatlan Mexico. I’ve never been down here this early in the year and it is WAY colder than I thought it would be.
Usually when I come down its all beach, sun and a lot of tanning. I get to jog and practice handstands on the beach. This year, well, I’m wearing a hoodie, long pants and would rather drink hot coffee inside.
If it warms up a bit, hopefully I’ll get some surfing in but if not, I can’t wait to get back to Calgary so I can get back on my snowboard. The irony of it all huh?
Long story short, the lack of beach time during the day is turning into craziness at night. First came the 3AM Frisbee session on the beach. That’s not so bad if it was warm. You’d have to feel how cold it is here right now to appreciate what a stupid thing it was getting wet that time of night and then chattering back to our room. We thought maybe the pool would give us some warmth as a pit stop back to our rooms but that was a miss, HARD.
Once back to our room the tequila and poker started going full tilt and the next thing you know, I thought it would be a cool thing to try chinups off our fourth story balcony. Enough said about that. Funny but dumb.
Heading downtown tomorrow so we can watch the UFC. New Years plans are still in the works.
We’ve got some zip line stuff lined up for tomorrow during the day also. I hope I can get some pictures. The last time I tried it was in Puerta Vallarta. They had a really good setup there.
You ride an old troop carrier up to the mountains and then jump on a donkey. Ya, a mule I guess you would say. That was a bit of a trip. After the mule, you hike a bit higher and start all the zip lines down.
At the end of the zip line you get to rappel down a couple of waterfalls. We only got to do one waterfall though because the rainy season had started pumping too much water down the mountain to do the second waterfall. I think they call it the “canopy tour”. Its worth the money.
You can’t take your camera with you but they will take pictures for you and “then for a small fee”
Well, thats all for now from the hotel lobby of the Costa Bonita in Mazatlan Mexico. Adios!
