Trying To Figure Out The In’s and Out’s Of How To Ship A Book On Amazon.com

I’m back at it again. I’m selling my “Get In Shape Body Blueprint” on Amazon.com. Why? I don’t really know to tell you the truth. The profit margin is low and the shipping costs a lot. O.k. Maybe I do know. It feels cool to tell people that your book is for sale on Amazon. Yup, that’s why I do it. Shameful.

At any rate, now the orders are coming in and I’m working out the best way of how to ship a book to Amazon so I can maximize the profit. The last time I shipped books to Amazon they started requesting only 1-3 books at a time which makes for a lot of shipping costs and trips to the post office. I think this time, I will see if there is a way to ship larger amounts so that the trips to the post office and costs are less.

Another issue with trying to figure out how to ship a book is sorting out the best shipping materials to use. I had some books labeled “Unsuitable For Sale” or something of the sort last time. In other words, they got scuffed up or damaged somehow in shipping to Amazon. While it might not seem like a big deal, (and it really isn’t) it does take a chunk out of profits. You paid for shipping, and printing, but do not get the money from the sale. So this is something that I would really like to find a solution for.

As it stands now, I’m going to shove off to the post office and Office Depot to see what they have for packaging and shipping materials right after I finish my morning PT client.

How To Ship A Book Update: You can get bubble wrap envelopes at Walmart. They are $3.07 Canadian for 6. Fits a small softcover perfectly. As well, just for general infomation, to ship a book to Amazon from here in Canada costs $6.80 by regular mail.

There are some figures for you when trying to figure out how to ship a book, your net profits after shipping and everything.

If anyone has any tips on how to ship a book a book through Amazon, please share below. It would be of great help!

Cheers,
Ray
