First and foremost I understand that you are running a business so let me know how to join your forum or what the fee is for one on one advice but I have been training like a madman especially on the cardio side but I don’t know what’s up I should be dropping like a rock every night I don’t know if it is the lack of nicotine or narcotics but I cant sleep I have been averaging about 2 to 3 hours a night can you recommend anything?

Hey “Buddy”, no worries. If you ever feel like spreading some cheer my way then just sign up over at the membership site here: http://www.fasterleanerstronger.com There is a sign up link at the bottom of the page. It costs $19.95 a month and you can fire away with questions and talk to others in the forums. As well, all my new shortcuts, favorite exercises and workout routines get put up in there. Now onto your question…

I’m going to do this a little different and tell you what I DID, not what maybe you SHOULD do. I don’t know what others recommend but I can tell you what I did but it’s not a PROFESSIONAL answer. It’s just Ray talking to you as a “buddy”.

I quit chewing tobacco a few years ago so I know the sensations you are feeling after you stopped smoking. It was a dirty habit I had left over from the army. It was the preferred poison because cigarettes would light up a cherry at night and give someone a nice place to aim for a headshot. At any rate, when I quit chewing, I was going out of my mind with energy. Same as you, I couldn’t sleep for more than a couple hours at a time.

Here are some things I did:

· I started to write a book because I was always up at 4AM and had nothing better to do.

· I took some extra morning and evening clients to keep me occupied.

· I jogged to work and added in some pushups and chin-ups when I was at home.

· I bought some special tea that had Skullcap, Valerian root, chamomile and catnip in it. It really knocks you out. Let it steep for about 10 minutes before you drink it.

· I took a shower before bed.

· Every once in a while I bit the bullet and did a shot of Nyquil.

· Try to train as early as you can in the day or even at lunch. When I workout in the evening I get jacked up for a few hours.

· Of course watch the drinks with caffeine like pops, certain teas and coffee. They can keep you up when you drink them after 5.

·I did a wild rose cleanse and I seriously felt like I was going through rehab but it detoxed me fast and I leaned out as well and felt a ton healthier.

· Lastly, I spent a few late nights where I couldn’t sleep reading self help books on topics that bugged me and made a few big decisions about what I wanted out of my life. I wrote all that stuff down and it still keeps me in check to this day. I accomplish things that are important to ME these days and not so much the bottom line or what other people expect from me.

You should find that by the end of the first week things will start to mellow out a bit and by the end of the second week that the altered states you feel will lessen in frequency and intensity. One thing you should remember is that your mental state will play big time while you’re on this journey. Use the extra energy to annoy people and have a ton of fun. Don’t stress feeling wired or not getting enough sleep if it doesn’t happen. Breaking out of daily habits and ruts can be the best thing that ever happened to you. You’ll look at things differently and who knows what you’ll do with your reality from here?
