Today was a birthday for a member in our party and this means good things at the Broken Plate Restaurant. We got to break a plate at the bar and also were given a Chocolate Colossus cake on the house with a sparkler!
Our server was Elia and she was great. Our appetizers of Scallops ($13.00) and Calamari ($11.00) came out very quickly and did a fine job of holding us over until our orders of Sword Chicken (Their signature marinated Souvlaki, with Mediterranean rice pilaf, roasted Greek potatoes, and market vegetables. $21.00) and Kotopoulo Trelo (lots of fresh chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, and green onions in a nutmeg cream sauce served with orzo pasta for $16.00) came out.
You can take a look at their full menu at http://www.brokenplate.ca/menu.asp
The Calamari were excellent and just the right texture but the Scallops were to die for. It was a crazy little mouth party.
Drink prices are average with a Cosmopolitan being $8.50 and the wine list has something for all tastes and expense accounts.
How Did The Broken Plate Feel?
If you’re feeling casual and want to sit outside you can. The Broken Plate in Willow Park Village has an outdoor patio but the inside was our choice. As soon as you walk in you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and authentic music that sets the mood.
The Broken Plate with its slightly dimmed lights has the right setting for nice casual relaxed meal or a romantic evening out with the wife. So if you are looking for a nice setting and great food at a price that won’t burn a hole in your pocket, check out the Broken Plate. Our experience was great.
