Today’s “Making Money Online” Lessons Learned:
I came out of todays 10 minutes lesson with more questions than actionable ideas or instruction because I really wanted to get into the traffic/conversion analysis. What did I learn? That targeting your ads to your target audience and using a call to action increases click through rate. I also learned that in the example case and for the example audience (sex,age,location), that positive works better than negative motivators. IN THIS CASEThat’s topic number one covered and what I got from it.
Number Two Point: I saw what ad worked for another business.

Then I learned about what I would learn in the next video. Which is “How to tell which traffic sources are sending your converting traffic.” We DID NOT LEARN “How to analyze where your traffic is coming from and if it’s converting to sales”.
THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you are new this at this point you must understand this. Increasing your CTR (click through rate) is awesome… ONLY IF YOUR OFFER IS CONVERTING. You must make sure that whatever it is you are promoting is actually making you money once people get there! If not, increasing your CTR is just increasing how much money you spend. So CTR is a huge part of the equation, but don’t turn on the tap of traffic full bore until you get that landing page converting.
I think this is an important point to consider if you are making a last ditch effort out of this and don’t have much cash to spare. Especially where the NON U.S. subscribers DO NOT get the advertising coupons to experiment with. I understand that you need traffic to test conversions but I would NOT throw all the money I had into just trying to get CTR up if I did not know that the offer I was sending traffic to was going to pay me back.

It would be really cool to have a Shoemoney Course Outline. I would be pretty happy to donate a couple of months worth of subscription payments to know that later on, I would maybe be running into some stuff that I have not known about. It would be easier to get through the beginner “setup and general education” stuff if you knew what was to come and that you will eventually learn more than you do now.
If advanced/new idea stuff is to come, then you really need to get a handle on what is happening now to be able to utilize what I think may be happening later. BUT, without a course outline, some of us might be just tossing some money out. I sure hope not and I wouldn’t expect that from Jeremy Schoemaker seeing as how he has worked himself up from nowhere just as a ton of his new course students are now trying to do with his help.
