Today was a great day. I got my first sponsored tweet through SponsoredTweets. Now it was no $1000 dollar tweet like John Chow but it was money and it was easy. Well, let me rephrase that. I worked hard to build up my twitter account but the actual act of having a sponsor make you an offer to tweet your followers and then accepting (or not) and then tweeting is a 30 second process. I heard the most interesting thing today. That fear is a nightmare and most of us are not succeeding the ways we want in life or achieving the things we want because of this fear. Now a mare of course is a horse. A female horse to be specific but that has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with this cool analogy.
You can catch, tame and then ride a mare and this is what you need to do with your nightmare called fear. One you have that fear broken in you can use it to take you places that you have never been before. Places where usually your greatest successes will live.
The more I look into my own experiences the more I realize that the whole fear of success and fear of failure ideas you always hear are that way because they are so true. Half the time you don’t want to start something because you will look dumb to everyone when you fail miserably. The other half of the time, you are scared you might succeed and then get caught working your butt off every day in this new run away success you have.
So it is back to the basics again. What is fear regardless if it has to do with success or failure? Fear is the way you tell yourself you may experience something uncomfortable or or the extreme end, possible death. How do you deal with fear? You either make friends with it, or overwhelm it with another emotion that is stronger.
What I mean is that you either reframe fear so that instead of going through dread feelings with it, you recognize it as a sign of going somewhere new and associate it with growth. Make it more of a fun game type of deal. That of course is not the point on answer but it is an option to use. The other way is to have such an overwhelming positive desire for something that fear takes a weaker second place. Kind of like when you get up the nerve to ask someone to dance with you at a party. You are scared but the benefits of getting a yes overwhelm you on an emotional level and get you to move past your fear. Continue reading
I’m amazed every day at how much you can improve your life if you simply think for yourself and do not except conventional thinking as the end all and be all of what truly is going on. Let me explain a little bit about what I mean.
When you do not know what to do in any given situation, then using the advice that you are given is a step up from knowing nothing. In todays world, with the laws put in place to protect us, at least you will not get hurt using this advice. Most times at any rate. This does not mean however that the advice you are receiving is in your best interests to get you on the fastest path towards your goals.
As an example you can take everything from workout routines to investment information. The people that are giving you the information have the financial resources to send their messages through the popular media chains. The can do this over and over to the point that all you hear and see is designed by them. On a large number of topics and areas of your life. Most often, those financial resources were made by selling you things or charging you fees to use things or access resources in the first place.
You have to think about that with the time and interest that it deserves. A really large portion of everything you see and hear on a daily basis is a controlled and designed message.
If your sources of information have a vested interest in selling you something, does it makes sense to think that their advice and suggestions are going to be one hundred percent unbiased? Hardly.
Now to the point. When you know better, you will do better. Look at the results you are achieving using the advice you are getting and look at the results the information source is getting and what they are doing to get those results. If you are advised to put your money into an investment because you will earn lots of money, is the person giving you that advice invested in that resource or are they making their money selling you that resource? It is a big difference.
Did the company get rich investing in shares or did they get rich selling their shares to the public? Don’t except things at face value. Question everything to the degree that it effects your life.
It’s the same with health and fitness. Is the person that is giving you advice using the advice they are giving you and is it working for them? Did the person selling you a diet plan end up having a heart attack, over weight at the age of 30? Or, are they simply selling you products? Is the diet plan you must follow available for purchase through them and so secret that you cannot find the information through free sources?
Model excellence and run away from hype. Pilot your own ship.
A Big Enough Why Solves Everything
I saw the most amazing thing the other day and it shows the importance of questions. I will get to the story in a minute but first a little more about the idea.
Of course everyone runs into problems. Actually, to start mentioning self talk and keep that word problems there could be done a little better. Problems stated in a positive tone, we can call challenges. It sounds way more fun and positive. So, on that note, everyone runs into challenges in life. For those of us that set goals, there will always be challenges that we get along the way to make things exciting.

What are you willing to do to get the things you want out of life? Your answer should be that you will do whatever it takes to get the things you want in life. Before I go much further, in today’s society the correct thing to put here is that you would be willing to do whatever it takes as long as no one gets hurt. Here is the thing with that.
