How To Be Happy
And Get What You Want
I sent out an email yesterday that I put a copy you can read here about a BodyByVi Challenge I am doing.
It made me think about selling out for success and how everyone has to make choices.
I received a couple comments via email that voiced opinions that perhaps some other readers that have known me for a while may share.
Here is one email from a reader and my answer:
Hi Ray,
I was kind of surprised by your going with BodyByVi (BBV) after reading/watching your prior material regarding health and nutrition. Since BBV uses artificial sweeteners (sucralose and the many studies highlighting it’s negative effects on the human body) as well as an inferior protein blend. Is there a reason you chose BBV over something like ProGrade or Isagenix? I am interested in what prompted your decision as you always came across as a no BS kind of guy and perhaps I have been misinformed in my research on BBV.
Thanks for your time,
Steve
My response:
It was a tough decision Steve.
I really tried to get my clients to go with something like sun warrior brown rice protein but the majority of them would not eat it because of taste and cost.
I finally had to pick the lesser of two evils between a little sweetener, affordability and poor nutrition, and go with splenda and the soy/whey blend of BodyByVi because it was that.. or my clients would pick the convenience of simply not eating, or eating take out due to a hectic lifestyle.
I’ve thought long and hard about this and I was torn for a while.
When I saw the body changes the challenge participants were making, I realized that people being able to lose weight and feel better about life, plus earn another income (or get their supplements for free) was too many pluses to ignore, and I had to re-think some of my ideas in order to help more people.
Over and over, the key to success is to help as many people as you can, get what they want.
I did look into prograde supplements but after several calls, could not get a simply admin problem taken care of and thought that would probably reflect the customer service my people would receive as well. Couldn’t have that. I have looked at isagenix and how their program works and am still happy with BodyByVi.
The last part was the business opportunity. I’m strongly driven by the areas of increasing quality of life in general. Things like self-improvement, fitness, drive, dedication and success type materials and really was impressed by the business opportunity that was available along with the supplements side of BodyByVi should someone want another income stream to improve quality of life.
In the end, I believe the best scenario is that everyone has organic, plant based meals every three to four hours but after years of trying my best, very few can stick with the demands a lifestyle like that requires and so…. the need for convenience and taste was a personal middle ground that I am happy with.
When I asked Visalus about it they sent me this: artificial sweeteners in weight loss shakes
Thank you for asking, I think I will send out a post explaining exactly what I just told you to the rest of my readers so they understand what I am trying to do as well.

Here is another one:
Hi Ray,
I’m just curious why your site contains a long write up basically stating that supplements are no substitute for food, not as beneficial as food, etc. Everyone who has done a little research on nutrition knows this but I cannot really see this strategy maximize profit.
You must be one of the good guys. Cheers man, it’s always nice when companies who distribute supplements don’t blatantly lie to your face and tell it as it is, even if it means sacrificing profits.
Cheers
Brad
My answer:
No profit can replace a great nights sleep and being able to say you always had your friends best interest at heart.
I’ve always advised “Food First” and I have the ability to take breaks at work (because I own the place) to eat. I realized that a ton of my clients just were not able to conduct their days the way I can and nutrition was really taking a hit. This really messed with my results that I could give them as a trainer. So in the end, even though food comes first, I realized that supplements were just that… a supplement to a great diet, a helpful aid to people that are rushed and who’s only other alternative would be crappy take-out or not getting enough calories in a day.
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
So there you have it my friends. I work to to help as many people as possible improve their quality of life in as many areas as I feel I can…. and to get paid handsomely for it.
Please share you thoughts below.

Thanks Ray….after having the sales rep at the gym give us the sampling of the “Body by Vi “- I thought I would check the internet and do some quick research to see if I could find anything negative about the product or their business practise before I went any further .
I was not able to find anything and for myself – I do not have the time in the day to eat as natural as I would like OR the large amount I would have to have in order to get the desired vitamins, minerals , etc that I would require.
As for the protein powders ; you did give us a sampling of the brown rice protein and I was not one of those who found it bad tasting , so the taste has never turned me off. Other protein powders , however, which were like sawdust might have made me drink it quicker only because I knew it was good for me , but yea many would not like it I am sure and I guess that if BBV can achieve the results they profess by making it taste better , then all the power to them .
I think that there are alot of people out there who need the help to lose the weight and if in the end- extending their lives is one of the byproducts then , is this not a good thing ? – especially when you read things like the younger generation may not outlive their parents !!!
I can see that as a “package” , it would appeal to the masses who do not really have to think about it or their daily intake when they use the product because of the vitamins , etc that are included. It all seems very easy to follow . And yea .. we should all eat as natural as we can , but in the end we are only human and we all need our few odd obsessions ( glass of red wine , chocolate bar , the odd hamburger , etc )
And after reading about the product , I don’t find it is really any worse than when I have my periodic “cheating ” ( my mars bar once every few months or my burger and onion rings ..lol ) . I have decided to try the product and see how I both feel and appear after a couple of months .
So …I am going to try the Core Kit and hopefully it will take me that much further to give me the internal and external body that I am striving for.
Again Ray …thanks for all the support
My pleasure Larry. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate that. Make sure you come back and post your results for everyone to see and welcome to the BodyByVi challenge!
