Stuggle – Love – And Pain!

How To Be Happy
And Get What You Want

I was doing a life re-org today and started going through some binders. I’ve always written a lot about what I am doing for both a reference point and a measuring stick of my progress. I have another poem that I found and I’ll put that one below.

It’s funny to look back sometimes and see where your head was at during different points of your life. Apparently, my head was, well, where it still is. Love and Money. The only difference is that now, I don’t look at the two as a struggle.

The Struggle

In the land of the lost
You must never get soft
Or you will fall, small, like a cat without claws, tossing a ball of yarn and a stud put in the barn.

Keep going
Keep the drive flowing
Like a lit candle, keep smoking
Burn the fuel till your broken
If you want it, take it, bake it, follow your recipe or fake it.

Better to wear out,
Then live long and rust out.
Doing the same thing
Your angle will run out
Take what you got, bring it to the top, don’t ever stop
Or do the dead fish and flop, plop, strangle and pop.

Walking in a haze
Hours turn to days
Obstacles don’t phase
In this world that’s a maze
Looking for ways to bust through the slime, grime and every day bind.

This One Could Hurt

Usually drab with a touch of sarcasm
Usually tense, feeling like jobs are left undone.
Happy she is, even when she says she’s sad.
Bright happy eyes, when she says she’s mad.
Thankful and pleasant, so I want to do more
Playing and laughing and rolling on the floor.
Her notes make me chuckle, aloud when I’m alone
Makes me want to do stuff and get out of the home.
Something to look forward to
Someone to hug
She’s nestled on my pillow, like a bug in a rug.

There you go. A little raw uncensored view into my soul. Life really is like a box of chocolates!

About Raymond Burton

After being involved with the physical body for so long on Buildingbodies.ca, I realized that the body is only part of the picture. There is also the soul and the mind. The dynamics of life is something we will never have all the answers to or well, life wouldn’t be a mystery. With that thought..I hope you enjoy RaymondBurton.com
