How to Write an Email Newsletter People Actually Read

Here’s the 3 things I use in my emails to get them read.

1 – Competence

2 – Questions

3 – CTA

Let me explain.

1- Show your competence

Every time I email my fitness list and give them advice and tips it shows my expertise as a trainer.

In essence I’m marketing to them in a useful way. Each email demonstrates the value of the service I provide.

Every time I help them they get a subliminal message that I know what I’m talking about and that they can trust me.

They get help and they also know they can invest in training with me via phone.

Giving away this high quality and helpful information is very good for sales, but is not at all “salesy”.

2 – Using Questions As Content

This is one of my favourite tested tips. You never need to guess at what write. And this is the main reasons I am on social media.

Social media and my email inbox are my content banks.

I look in my email folder titled ‘Questions.’ Found there is every email where I’ve answered a reader question.

When I don’t know what to write I answer a question.

Because I know if one person asks it, others want to know too.

So I keep the questions and how I answered them on file and that’s what generates the content for my emails.

3- A Call To Action

Every email I send has a reason. One day it may be to give you a motivational tip and I tell you to get to the gym. Another day it could be to buy something.

But every email should have a call to action at the end that summarizes what I want you to know and what you should do with that information to solve a problem.

Otherwise I’m just blabbing at you. And nobody likes that.

So try these 3 things in your next newsletter and watch people actually start to read them.
